Unlike a fixed coilover, ride height is not a permanent compromise: you clear driveways, speed bumps, and steep ramps that would destroy a slammed static setup.

How to Install Air Suspension on Your 370Z / G37

Plan on 8 to 12 hours for a first-time DIY install, or a single day at a shop like ours in Tampa. You need a jack and stands, basic hand tools, a drill for mounting, and a spring compressor is not required because the air struts arrive assembled. Work one corner at a time and keep the car safely supported the whole time.

Step 1: Mount the Struts

Raise the car, remove the wheels, and unbolt the factory struts front and rear. The Air Lift Performance struts bolt into the OEM locations with the supplied hardware — no fabrication. Set your initial ride height by threading the lower mount, then reinstall and torque to Nissan/Infiniti spec before adding air. Route the 3/8in air line from each strut toward the trunk, keeping it away from the exhaust and moving suspension parts.

Step 2: Mount the Tank and Compressor

The 4-gallon aluminum tank and VIAIR 444C compressor usually live in the trunk or spare-tire well. Bolt the tank down securely, mount the compressor near it on rubber isolators to cut vibration and noise, and install the supplied pressure switch and water trap. The 200 PSI, 33% duty-cycle compressor fills the tank quickly and keeps up with daily air-up cycles.

Step 3: Plumb the Air Lines

Run 3/8in line from the tank to the 3P manifold, then from the manifold to each of the four struts. Air Lift's push-to-connect fittings make leak-free connections — cut the line square, push it in fully, and it seats. Larger 3/8in line (versus 1/4in) means faster lift and lay-out, which matters on a heavier coupe like the G37.

Step 4: Wire and Calibrate

Run a fused power wire from the battery to the compressor and manifold, ground both, and connect the 3P controller. Power up, follow the on-screen calibration, and set your three presets: aired-out, daily driving, and a highway height. The 3P system holds each preset by pressure to within 0.1 PSI, so your saved heights are repeatable every time.

Step 5: Leak-Check and Set Alignment

Air the system up, spray every fitting with soapy water, and watch for bubbles. Cycle the car up and down several times to confirm it holds pressure overnight. Any time you change ride height on a 370Z or G37, get an alignment — lowering the VQ platform pulls camber and toe out of spec, and correcting them protects your tires and keeps the steering sharp.
